I painted this new series during the most challenging months of the year for me, which are typically January and February. There is less sunshine and not as many opportunities to be outside doing the things I love to do. So my response during those darker days is too create with passion. To tell the story of hope through the darkness. Each of these paintings explores that theme in a new way.

This first one is so very special to me. You can see the fervor - The desire to show up for ourselves even when it’s difficult. Maybe especially so. I sat with this painting for weeks. Understanding what it needed to say. I’m so happy that the words finally came and they told a true story of resilience.

It’s often not the big moments that help us push through, but it’s all of the small bits and pieces of life that really bring light to our days. I love the relationship the words have with the painting.
